Dear OCPhA Friends:

We will be participating in the APHA’s Keep It Moving Challenge, an easy and fun way to promote good health and physical activity in the community. The American Public Health Association (APHA) has partnered with Walker Tracker to give participants free access to their fitness-tracking platform. You can sign up online at the link below or through the Walker Tracker app. Through this event, we hope to promote the message that consistent physical activity helps improve quality of life, prevent chronic disease, and promote healthy aging.

The goal is to collectively reach 1 billion steps from January 1st to the end of National Public Health Week on April 11th.  To foster a sense of connection and community, we want to encourage members to post about their efforts in the Billion Steps Challenge on OCPhA’s social media pages.

In the end, the top two participants with the highest number of steps will each win a cool prize!   Challenge start: Jan. 1, 2021
